Nurse Jenny is the friendly face of Caring Hearts Psychiatry Inc., dedicated to helping you navigate the intersection of mental health and metabolic wellness.

We’ve all been there. It’s 2:00 PM on a Tuesday. You’ve finished your lunch, you’re staring at your computer screen, and suddenly, the "wall" hits. Your focus dissolves, your energy levels plummet, and that bag of chips or the office candy jar starts calling your name with a siren song you can’t ignore.

Most people call this the "afternoon slump" and try to power through it with an extra-large latte or sheer willpower. But at Caring Hearts Psychiatry Inc., we look at things differently. We look at the biology behind that slump. Specifically, we look at your cortisol levels.

This is where Jasmine comes in.

If you haven’t met Jasmine yet, imagine the grace and athletic fluidity of Jenna Dewan combined with the warmth of your favorite wellness coach. She’s the architect behind our "2 PM Daily Flow," a mindful movement practice designed to do more than just stretch your muscles, it’s designed to hack your hormones and unlock sustainable weight loss.

The Cortisol Connection: Why You’re Not "Lazy," You’re Stressed

Before we dive into the magic of the Flow, let’s talk about the science. When we talk about weight loss, most people focus on "calories in vs. calories out." But if your hormones are out of whack, that math doesn't always add up.

Cortisol is your body’s primary stress hormone. In short bursts, it’s life-saving. But in our modern, high-stress world, many of us are living with chronically high cortisol levels. When cortisol stays high, your body gets a very specific message: “We are in danger. Hold onto all the fat, especially around the midsection, because we might need that energy to survive a famine or a fight.”

High cortisol also triggers cravings for high-sugar, high-fat "comfort foods." It’s not a lack of discipline; it’s your brain trying to protect you. We call this The Hungry Brain, and understanding it is the first step toward permanent change.

Why 2 PM?

The mid-afternoon is a critical window. For many, this is when the stress of the morning has accumulated, and the body’s natural circadian rhythm dips. If you let that dip turn into a stress response, your cortisol spikes, your insulin follows, and any weight loss progress you made in the morning comes to a grinding halt.

Jasmine’s 2 PM Daily Flow is an evidence-based intervention. By engaging in mindful, rhythmic movement at exactly this time, you signal to your nervous system that you are safe. You lower the cortisol, stabilize your mood, and prevent the emotional eating cycle before it even starts.

Meet Jasmine: Movement with Intention

Jasmine isn’t your typical "no pain, no gain" trainer. She understands that for women managing the complexities of weight loss and mental health, intensity isn't always the answer, intentionality is.

Her background in dance and mindful movement gives her a unique perspective on how the body carries stress. When you watch her lead a session, you see a blend of yoga-inspired flows, gentle mobility work, and rhythmic breathing. It’s beautiful to watch, but it’s even better to participate in.

"We aren't trying to burn 500 calories in twenty minutes," Jasmine often says during her sessions. "We are trying to tell your brain that it’s okay to let go."

By focusing on the "Flow," Jasmine helps our clients move out of "fight or flight" mode and into "rest and digest" mode. This shift is the secret sauce to making GLP-1 medications or nutritional plans actually work long-term.

What Happens During the 2 PM Flow?

You don’t need a gym membership or a change of clothes to participate. The Flow is designed to be accessible. It’s about 15 to 20 minutes of movement that focuses on:

  1. Decompressing the Spine: Stress literally weighs us down. Jasmine uses movements that create space in the body.
  2. Vagus Nerve Activation: Through specific breathing patterns integrated with movement, the Flow stimulates the vagus nerve, which is the "off-switch" for stress.
  3. Mindful Awareness: Instead of checking out, you check in. How do your feet feel on the floor? Where are you holding tension?

When you finish a session with Jasmine, you don’t feel exhausted. You feel regulated. You return to your afternoon tasks with a clear head, and suddenly, that 3 PM cookie doesn’t look nearly as necessary.

Part of the CURVE Collective

Jasmine’s 2 PM Daily Flow is a cornerstone of our CURVE Collective initiative. We believe that weight loss should be a journey of empowerment, not a punishment. The CURVE Collective is about embracing your body while working toward its healthiest version.

Within the collective, we focus on the "Three M's": Medication (when appropriate), Metabolism, and Mindset. Jasmine handles the bridge between Metabolism and Mindset. By controlling cortisol through movement, she makes the biological environment of your body much more receptive to weight loss.

Is This the Missing Piece for You?

If you feel like you’ve tried everything, every diet, every "bootcamp," every pill, and the weight still won't budge, it might be time to stop fighting your biology and start working with it.

We see so many women who are doing everything "right" but are constantly in a state of high stress. Their brains are locked in a survival loop. Jasmine’s Flow is the key that unlocks that loop. It’s a gentle, professional, and deeply empathetic approach to healthcare that prioritizes your well-being over a number on a scale.

If you’re struggling with stress eating or feel like your metabolism is stalled, this is for you.
