(Nurse Jenny: A friendly, youthful, blonde clinical professional dedicated to your wellness journey.)
Hi everyone! I’m Nurse Jenny, and I am so excited to be part of your journey here at Caring Hearts Psychiatry Inc. If you’re reading this, you’ve likely realized that the traditional "eat less, move more" advice just isn't cutting it. You’re looking for something deeper, something clinical, and something that actually addresses why your body holds onto weight.
In our first part of this series, we touched on the foundations of metabolic health. Today, for our 12:00 PM deep-dive, we are pulling back the curtain on medical weight loss telehealth. Specifically, I want to walk you through what it’s actually like to sit down (virtually!) for a comprehensive evaluation with me.
There is a lot of noise out there about weight loss injections and "quick fixes." My goal today is to show you that a true medical weight loss telehealth experience is about so much more than just a prescription, it’s about a partnership.
Why Telehealth for Medical Weight Loss?
We live in a busy world. Between work, family, and trying to maintain some semblance of a social life, driving across town to sit in a sterile waiting room is the last thing most women want to do.
Medical weight loss telehealth bridges the gap between high-level clinical care and the convenience of your own living room. But "convenient" doesn't mean "casual." At Caring Hearts Psychiatry Inc., our telehealth evaluations are evidence-based, thorough, and designed to look at you as a whole person, not just a number on a scale.

Step 1: The Initial Assessment & Health History
The evaluation starts long before we hop on our video call. When you begin your journey toward your goals, you’ll complete a detailed health history.
I don't just want to know your current weight. I want to know your history.
- What were your previous weight loss attempts like?
- Have you struggled with emotional eating or "food noise"?
- What is your current relationship with food?
- Are there underlying medical conditions like PCOS, thyroid issues, or insulin resistance?
This initial intake is the foundation. It’s how we ensure that whatever path we choose, whether it involves oral GLP-1 medications or other metabolic supports, is safe and effective for your unique biology.

Step 2: The Comprehensive Clinical Evaluation
Once we are on our call, the real magic happens. This is where we move beyond the paperwork. As your clinical support, I’m looking for the "why" behind the weight.
Biological Markers
We discuss your labs. While some telehealth services skip this, we believe in being thorough. We look at blood glucose, A1C, and lipid panels to see how your metabolism is currently functioning. If you have recent labs, we’ll review them; if not, we’ll help you get them.
Medication Compatibility
Not every medication is right for every person. During our evaluation, we discuss the "Safety Net" of clinical supervision. We dive into your current medications to ensure there are no contraindications. This is a personalized, evidence-based approach to ensure your safety is the priority. You can learn more about why this matters in our post about the weight loss safety net.
Lifestyle & Habits
We talk about your daily flow. Are you a 2 PM "stresser"? Do you struggle with nighttime emotional eating? Understanding your patterns allows us to provide the right clinical support to help you break the cycle.
Step 3: Addressing "The Hungry Brain"
At Caring Hearts Psychiatry Inc., we have a unique perspective. We don't just look at the gut; we look at the brain. Many of our patients find that their weight struggles are deeply tied to their mental health.
During our evaluation, we may touch on:
- Dopamine Seeking: Is your brain looking for a chemical reward through sugar?
- Stress Response: How does your nervous system react to a long day at work?
- Executive Function: Do you struggle with the organization needed for meal planning? (Sometimes this links back to ADD/ADHD).
By integrating psychiatry with weight loss, we address the root cause of why it’s been so hard to keep the weight off in the past.

Step 4: Tailoring Your Treatment Plan
After our comprehensive evaluation, we don’t just hand you a generic PDF and say "good luck." We create a personalized roadmap. This might include:
- Prescription Support: If eligible, we discuss medical options like GLP-1 agonists that help quiet the "food noise" in your brain.
- Wellness Coaching: We may link you with a Wellness Coach to help implement the habits that sustain weight loss.
- Nutrition Strategy: No-stress meal ideas, like our 7 healthy dinners under 30 minutes, to keep your body fueled without the overwhelm.
What Makes Our Telehealth Different?
You might be wondering, "Can't I just get these meds from a discount website?"
The answer is yes, you could: but you’d be missing the most critical component: Clinical Support and Safety.
When you work with me and the team at Caring Hearts, you aren't just a transaction. You are a patient receiving high-quality, professional healthcare. We provide regular virtual check-ins to monitor your progress, manage side effects, and adjust your plan as your body changes. This is the difference between "dieting" and "medical weight management."
We are here to ensure that your journey is as smooth as possible. We use secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms to ensure your privacy is protected every step of the way.
